What is soccer 5 ?
Soccer 5 or more commonly known as indoor football or soccer is the little brother of football which is played on a football field reduced to varying formats.
The size of 5-a-side football often depends on the building that houses it. We often start with an area of 15m x 25m but these measures can be adjusted as desired because we manufacture these football fields to measure.
The playing surface is delimited by chipboard walls or tempered safety glass, as is the case with the creations of Universgazons.
The special thing about this sport is that it is very fast and intense considering the size of the pitches. The players, numbering 5 per team, have virtually no downtime. This is why the land is only rented for a maximum of one hour.
This discipline benefits from less restrictive playing rules than those of classic football. To play five-a-side football, players can use glass walls in the flow of the game. Thus passes between two players can be made through the walls, the same can be said for passing and dribbling.
The dimensions of a five-a-side football field are smaller than those of a real football field and so are the cages.
Nets stretched over the 1m high walls help keep the ball in the playing area. Most soccer clubs also have netting as a roof.
The floor covering is fitted with high-end synthetic turf with or without infill depending on the manager's choice.
More and more indoor football clubs are choosing the latest generation infill-less turf in order to reduce the maintenance of the grounds and avoid the addition of rubber aggregates on the pitches.
5-a-side football is played both indoors and outdoors and has grown in popularity around the world.
