How to choose your synthetic turf? Univers Gazons helps you choose your synthetic turf.
Several criteria come into play to make the right choice:
- Height: there are several heights of synthetic turf from 5 to 72 mm. On balconies, heights less than or equal to 35 mm are recommended because cleaning is much easier. In gardens or around swimming pools, you can install taller synthetic lawns because the feeling of comfort is greater and the natural effect is more present.
- The type of fibers: there are mainly 2 types of fibers for ornamental lawns: polyethylene fibers and polypropylene fibers (used for looped fibers). Polyethylene is a softer material and therefore more pleasant to the touch and polypropylene is harder but it allows the grass to hold better.
- Shape memory: There are also shape memory fibers (C, S, V, W, E, U Ribbed, Diamond…). They allow a better grip of the turf and therefore better resistance to crushing.
- The number of points per m²: It is decisive for comparing products. Avoid synthetic turf with densities lower than 13,000 points because the result is not at all there. A higher number of points implies a denser turf with a higher amount of material.
- The aesthetic aspect: The color of the product will be decisive, there are many lawns on the market with large panels of green
The best way to choose is to request a sample (usually free) and to study the technical characteristics of the product. Whether you are from New York, Los Angeles, USA , the Univers Gazons team will help you in your choice.
