Installation and construction of a Classic Padel court to Washington
Installation of a Classic padel court in Washington USA.
Univers Gazons carried out the installation of a padel court for the "indoor sport concept" sports complex
This warehouse located in an industrial zone at the entrance to Washington , had a uniform concrete slab.
Installing a padel court on a clean surface is essential for proper installation of the infrastructure and tempered glass panels.
It all starts with the layout of the future padel track.
This makes it possible to align with the building and follow an axis when laying the elements of the infrastructure.
We start by attaching a corner post to the padel frame and then the rest of the metal bars and grids.
The assembly is fixed to the ground with concrete screws. Correctly anchoring structures to the ground allows perfect stability of the padel court.
Then, we install polyurethane foam on the metal parts that will accommodate the glass.
This allows the glass to have no contact with the metal infrastructure of the padel court.
The 2m x 3m tempered glass panels weigh more than 180 kg.
The glass used for a padel court is standardized in Europe, it is a 10mm thick safety glass. It must resist the impact of the players on the glass walls and the rackets that they will receive during the games.
Installation must be carried out with a lifting beam. It is a machine allowing to carry and place the glass of the padel court by means of wheels and suction cups.
Once all the infrastructure is in place, it's time to install the synthetic padel turf.
For this realization, the client opted for a 12 mm fibrillated artificial lawn.
To cover the surface of the 10m x 20m padel court, you need 2 rolls of 4m x 20m + 1 roll of 2m x 20m.
These 3 rollers are glued together using the bridging tape and two-component green glue.
For a good grip of the glue, we have sandbags all along the joints.
After 2 to 3 hours of drying, we can make the padel game lines.
They are made using a double cutter that cuts lines 5 cm wide.
As with synthetic turf strips, the lines are glued using the bridging tape and two-component green glue.
After 12 hours of drying, we sand the artificial lawn up to 15 kg / m².
To do this, we use a dried washed sand with a particle size of 0.4 / 0.8.
It is integrated into the synthetic turf by several successive passes using a spreader and rotating brushes.
Padel is developing more and more in France, it is both fun and accessible. This new practice is a mix of squash and tennis.
A little reminder of the main characteristics of a padel court:
Played in 2 on 2 (even if there are 1v1 courts which are more intended for training) As in tennis, the padel game is played in 2 winning sets. The ball can bounce off glass walls like squash The ball used is the same as in tennis.
